ODIN

Odin and his mate Freya arrived at Ruby Ranch in August of 2019, after they had been found wandering in the middle of nowhere. Sadly, Freya passed away about a year later. In 2021 we were able to rescue another female turkey who we named Eleanor and she and Odin, while they didn't have the same bond as Odin and Freya, enjoyed each other's company. Eleanor disappeared one day and we feared the worst. However she triumphantly returned, 9 little poults in tow that she'd hatched in a top secret location. We found good sanctuary homes for Eleanor and her little girls and had intended to keep Odin and the boys, just so we didn't have anymore surprise turkey families. The boys were more than a handful, escaping to the neighbour's house daily, and beating up their dad Odin and our sweet rooster Angus. When our friends at Dara Farm Sanctuary asked if we'd be interested in taking on some of their roosters, we decided to do a trade, their 9 roosters for our 4 juvenile (delinquent) turkeys.
